The British Cleaning Council (BCC) recently held its last meeting of the year at the offices of the British Pest Control Association in Derby, where members were informed that plans for next year’s Cleaning Show at the ExCeL are now in its advanced stages.
Members heard how the event is expected to be almost double the size of the show held in 2015, with floor space booking up fast. Due to the show’s success, the BCC has expanded and redesigned its stand. The show will be shared with nine member associations.
The Council also heard that the CSSA is receiving a large volume of applications for its new awards, which will be presented at the show. It was also confirmed that the seminar program is now finalised.
The meeting considered an application for funding from the Domestic Cleaning Alliance, and heard from the DCA’s Stephen Munton about self-employment in the sector.
A letter to be sent to one of the ministers responsible for Brexit, urging the need for consultation with the industry during negotiations was also approved by the Council.
Next year, will see the BCC celebrate its 35th anniversary, for which a special logo will be used throughout 2017. A number of promotions have also been planned to mark the milestone.
