Cordant cleans up with first housing sector contract

Cordant Cleaning has secured a contract to provide a range of specialist cleaning services across 560 locations belonging to The Riverside Group, a leading national housing association.

The three-year deal, which has an option to be extended by a further two years, represents the first time that Cordant Cleaning has supplied cleaning services to the UK’s housing sector.

Under the terms of the agreement Cordant will deliver general cleaning services across The Riverside Group’s various ‘care and support’ sites, as well as its general housing. The contract covers the cleaning of all communal areas across the portfolio, including entrance areas, stairs, landing areas and corridors. In addition, the company will provide cleaning services at some client offices in Liverpool.

Cordant has deployed a dedicated team incorporating a mix of static and mobile operatives, which has allowed the company to create a bespoke flexible cleaning solution and will help The Riverside Group to achieve substantial cost savings.

Guy Pakenham, Managing Director of Cordant Cleaning, said: “The Riverside Group has benefited from our innovative and agile approach, which will lead to significant efficiency gains and enhanced service levels across their housing portfolio. We are very excited to secure our first major contract within the UK housing sector and we look forward to showcasing our expertise and growing our presence within the industry over the coming year.”

As part of the contract, 70 employees have transferred under TUPE regulations and will undergo additional training to use certain equipment and products.
