Kennel working retrieves cash for rescue charity

Contracts manager Philip Kay from Bristol-based Prestige Cleaning & Maintenance swapped the office for a dog kennel this month, to raise funds for Bath Cats and Dogs Home.

prestige-cleaningThe charity’s annual Kennel Break fundraising challenge saw a number of businesses from across Bath and the South West locked into rescue dog pens – each needing to hound their connections for donations to buy their release.

Following a hard day’s morning, working behind dog kennel bars, Kay successfully collared contacts and friends to retrieve £535 in donations, in just three hours.

Bath Cats and Dogs Home is one of the biggest and busiest adoption and rehoming centres in the South West, rehoming around 1,300 animals from across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire every year. Over the last six years, Kennel Break challengers have helped the charity to raise £67,183 towards the £1.4 million annual running costs it needs to attract.

Prestige Cleaning provides contract cleaning services to commercial organisations and local authority schools.
