phs appoints head of public sector

Hygiene services company, phs Group, has appointed Chris Brown to the newly created role of Head of Public Sector.

With 15 years of public sector experience, Brown will lead phs’ drive to enhance its offering to the public sector and build stronger relationships with customers.

Offering healthcare, washroom and floorcare hygiene products and services, phs has 90,000 customers across 300,000 locations nationwide, of which 20 per cent are within the public sector from local authorities and education to the NHS, police and fire forces. These contracts are serviced locally by phs  employees based across the UK.

Brown will oversee all public sector accounts and customers across the UK, manage phs’ framework partnerships, ensure compliance and drive new business. A key part of his role will be to continually improve phs’ service and raise awareness of the company’s offering and commitment to doing more for customers; from diverting waste from landfill through its patented LifeCycle process and cleaning up plastic from the oceans to saving water and delivering cost efficiencies.

Prior to joining phs, Brown spent three years at outsourcing company Capita Translating and Interpreting where he was Head of Public Sector and nine years at LanguageLine Solutions, latterly as Head of New Business.

Speaking about the appointment, Paul Doble, CCO of phs Group, said: “We’re refining the way we operate so that first and foremost we are a customer-centric business offering the gold standard in service. This appointment is one of a series of new roles we are creating to consolidate phs as a business and will bring a more focused, strategic drive to our significant public sector offering. There has been a lot of change in the business and we will continue to evolve to ensure that we consistently deliver a better service for our customers.”
