The National Loo of the Year Awards which were created to encourage the highest possible standards in all ‘away from home’ or public toilets has awarded Total Support Services (TSS) with three National Loo of the Year Awards as well as a Platinum grading.
TSS put forward entries in the Heritage and Space to Change categories. Within the Heritage category TSS won awards in the England region at the Tower of London and in the Wales region at the National Assembly for Wales (Senedd Building) under the Historic Buildings heading. TSS also received a National Award under the ‘Space to Change’ category, also for the Senedd Building in Wales.
The 2016 Tork Loo of the Year Awards were sponsored by Tork, Clos-o-Mat and Dolphin Dispensers and are supported by the four national tourism bodies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Thousands of toilets were judged this year, across the sixty separate entry categories of the competition, with many first-time entries from establishments joining the increasing number of providers who submit their toilet facilities for an annual, independent assessment.
All competition entries received an unannounced visit from a Loo of the Year Awards inspector and assessed against 101 judging criteria – including signage and decor, fixtures and fittings and overall standards of cleanliness and management.
All loos receive a grading ranging from Bronze to Platinum. Gold and Platinum winners are then shortlisted for one of several National Awards covering England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.
James Alexander, regional director of TSS commented:
“We are really proud that we have received these prestigious awards on behalf of our clients. This would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our onsite teams who work tirelessly, in these very busy, high footfall environments to achieve service excellence.”
