For the first time, the judges also presented a special Outstanding Contribution Award to Jack Stuifbergen of Breedweer, recognising his longstanding contribution to the cleaning industry and his commitment to demonstrating the wider social impact the sector can have. Through Breedweer, Jack has created opportunities for people who have traditionally found it difficult to enter the workplace, while also challenging businesses and the wider industry to think differently about the social and environmental value that cleaning can create. The judges recognised his determination to challenge established thinking, push for change and raise the ambition of the sector.
Michelle Marshall, Editor of European Cleaning Journal and Founder of the European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards, said: “The 2026 awards have once again demonstrated the incredible range of work taking place across our industry. From the way organisations are embracing new technology to the investment being made in people, sustainability and workplace culture, there are some hugely positive stories to tell.
“What stood out this year was not just the quality of the entries, but the tangible impact behind them. Our winners have shown how new ideas, strong leadership and a genuine commitment to improvement can deliver meaningful change for businesses, employees, customers and the wider sector.
“This year, the judges also felt it was important to recognise an individual whose contribution to the industry extends beyond their own organisation. Jack Stuifbergen has consistently challenged the sector to think differently about the role cleaning can play in creating social value and positive change, and we were delighted to recognise that contribution with this special award.
“Congratulations to all our winners, as well as every finalist who made it to the shortlist. It was a pleasure to bring everyone together in such a fantastic setting in Palma and celebrate the achievements of an industry that continues to evolve, innovate and raise standards.”
The European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards are the only pan-European awards dedicated to recognising the professional cleaning sector.
