Amplify Goods brings refill-first thinking to the workplace kitchenette

Certified social enterprise Amplify Goods has launched a refill-first kitchenette system, making a lower-waste choice the easy choice in shared office kitchens.

The system brings together a 5L Unscented Washing Up Liquid refill, a reusable Forever Glass Bottle filled on-site from the bulk refill, and expanding compostable sponges in handy packs of 3 or bulk bags of 40.

The washing-up liquid is made with 97 per cent naturally derived ingredients and is free from artificial perfumes and synthetic dyes. Big on bubbles and tough on grease, it replaces the cycle of buying small plastic bottles for shared kitchens.

The sponges are made from natural cellulose, with zero microplastics. They are machine and dishwasher washable and fully compostable at end of life. Each one is individually hand-stamped with a wash, re-use, compost reminder at the Amplify Goods workshop in London.

Amplify Goods’ product-level impact calculation shows each 5L refill is equivalent to 15.327 plastic bottles avoided or recovered, and creates at least £33.60 of social value, measured as an equivalent saving to society. Each Forever Glass bottle creates 10 minutes of paid work experience for someone facing barriers to employment, such as homelessness or disability, and every pack of 3 sponges creates 4 minutes of work through careful hand-stamping and sealing into packs.

Camilla Marcus-Dew, Co-founder of Amplify Goods, said: “Workplace kitchens are full of small, routine purchases that add up to a mountain of packaging, clutter and repeat cost. We want to make the better routine the easier one: a bottle built to last, a bulk refill that works hard, and sponges you can wash, re-use and compost. It’s simple for facilities teams to introduce, easy for everyone to use, and every order creates impact far beyond the sink.”
