BICSc host successful sessions at leading lifestyle show

Experts from BICSc hosted knowledge sharing sessions and industry-leading discussions disclosing top tips, trends, home hacks and more at this year’s Home, Life & You Show.

The team from the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) hosted the Home Stage at the event which welcomed a diverse range of expert speakers, authors, practitioners and inspirational presenters, all offering practical advice and real-life experiences to attendees. During the two-day event BICSc led sessions and facilitated engaging panel discussions featuring experts, keynote speakers and content creators at the popular show staged at Excel, London in October.

The Home Stage focused on practical household topics, including home improvements, laundry management, floorcare, cleaning products and everyday home organisation, alongside brand demonstrations featuring the latest products available in the marketplace.

BICSc Group Managing Director, Neil Spencer-Cook, said: “It was a pleasure to hear insights from such a diverse range of speakers and panellists. The event also provided a valuable opportunity for BICSc to share our professional expertise with a consumer audience.”

BICSc exhibition stand, located next to the Home Stage, featured expansive graphic displays to help visualise and highlight how to clean different areas of the home with appropriate colour-coded cloths designated to use in each different living space.

Event visitors were invited to take turns to “spin the wheel” at the BICSc stand with the chance to take home their own set of colour-coded training cloths.

The on stand interactive activity proved phenomenally popular as visitors spun the wheel and then had the opportunity to identify where the corresponding colour-coded cloth should be used in a specific setting. The fun element helped to reinforce the message from the BICSc team who highlighted how using the BICSc colour-coding system ensures safe, hygienic, effective cleaning.

Savvy spinners who answered correctly and identified which area of the home required cleaning with which colour-coded cloth received a pack as a prize.

Spencer-Cook added: “Engaging and educational, the activity was designed to raise awareness of the importance of colour-coding in cleaning environments and demonstrate how it helps reduce cross-contamination, minimising the spread of germs and bacteria.

“BICSc prides itself in bringing together likeminded individuals who want to celebrate the cleaning industry and ensure effective and efficient cleaning takes place in all environments, to keep the cleaning operative and anyone using an area safe. This show was the perfect platform to get our message across to thousands of consumers. Throughout the two-day event the team had numerous positive, engaging conversations with visitors, helping them understand how colour-coding can improve hygiene standards and support safer, healthier environments in everyday life.”

BICSc is the largest independent, professional and educational body in the cleaning industry. Established over 60 years ago, the Institute’s mission is to raise the standards of education and to build awareness of the cleaning industry through professional standards and accredited training.
