Mrs Buckét founder and CEO wins Director of the Year Award for Medium to Large Business at the IoD Awards
Founder and CEO of Mrs Buckét, Rachael Flanagan, has been named Director of the Year for Medium to Large Business (over 50 employees) at the Institute of Directors (IoD) Awards Wales.
The award, presented at a ceremony held at ICC Wales in Newport on Friday, May 8, recognises the exceptional growth and leadership behind the founder-led, professional services business, which now employs more than 500 people.
Judges praised Flanagan’s strategic focus, strong governance and people-first culture, highlighting her entrepreneurial leadership, sector specialisation and disciplined approach to growth.
They also recognised the company’s sustained client wins, robust performance frameworks and values-led culture, which continues to deliver customer excellence and long-term resilience.
Last month, Mrs Buckét announced two further senior management roles, as the business strengthens its operational structure to support future expansion.
Kate Ablett, who was shortlisted for the Skills Development Award at the IoD Wales, was promoted to Managing Director, while Flanagan moved into the position of CEO, allowing her to focus on the strategic projection of the business.
Mrs Buckét experienced significant growth throughout 2025, achieving a 30 per cent increase in business performance and securing 30 new clients across multiple sectors. The company also expanded into the education sector, securing major contract wins with Bassaleg High School and the RCT Education Framework.
Speaking after receiving the award, Flanagan said: “I am absolutely thrilled to receive this award and incredibly proud of what we have achieved as a business.
