The Clean Space appoints Stefano Cabras as CEO
Specialist commercial cleaning company, The Clean Space, has appointed Stefano Cabras as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect, as Founder Charlie Mowat moves from CEO to Chairman.
Cabras joined The Clean Space as Finance Director 15 years ago and has served as Managing Director for the past six years. In his new role, he will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the business, overseeing its operations, continued growth and long-term development.
During his time with the company, Cabras has played a central role in its growth into a national commercial cleaning business employing approximately 1,800 people, generating annual revenues of around £40 million and delivering services across more than 1,000 client sites.
A chartered accountant, Cabras has helped to strengthen The Clean Space’s financial, operational and strategic capabilities. He has also been closely involved in the company’s acquisition programme, which has seen it complete around 15 acquisitions to date alongside continued organic growth.
His appointment reflects the continued development of The Clean Space’s senior leadership structure as the business enters its next phase.
As Chairman, Mowat will remain involved in the strategic direction and wider development of the company, working closely with Cabras, the board and the senior leadership team.

“This is a natural evolution for The Clean Space. Moving into the Chairman role will allow me to focus on the longer-term direction of the business, while continuing to support Stefano and the wider leadership team. I am very proud of what we have built and excited about what comes next.”
The Clean Space has expanded through a combination of organic growth, investment in its people and technology and a strategic acquisition programme designed to strengthen its capabilities and national presence.
