The Cleaning Show (Excel, London 19-21 March 2019), one of Europe’s biggest trade events dedicated to commercial cleaning, has announced a raft of both new and returning exhibitors.
Tennant, the US-based global manufacturer of floor and outdoor cleaning machinery is set to return to the show after a 10-year gap, while carpet cleaning equipment firm Host Von Schrader will be making their debut at the event. Other new names include several software companies and app developers such as Adonai7, Blue Rock Systems and Squeegee.
The show also continues to attract more big international names. These include Italian pressure washer brand Lavorwash, Chinese chemical business Changzhou Huimei, global workwear supplier Silk Road, Belgium window cleaning equipment specialists Moerman and the France-based sustainability inspection and certification organisation EcoCert.
In addition, the event has secured new sponsors – including Nilfisk, Mirius and Mayflower Washrooms – and well-known industry names such as Kimberly Clark, Rubbermaid, Seko, Supermax, Essity and Vaclensa have all signed-up as exhibitors.
Further, The Cleaning Show continues to be used as a platform to announce breakthrough products and cutting-edge services. For example, cleaning machine maker MotorScrubber has confirmed it will be launching a new model at the expo, and disinfection specialists Centrego will be showcasing an updated and refined product range. Moerman will also be debuting two new products.
Jeroen Van Hecke from Moerman said: “We first came to The Cleaning Show in London in 2015 where we launched our innovative Liquidator squeegee channel for window cleaning professionals and the reaction was fantastic, so it’s great to be returning this year.
“In particular we are looking forward to meeting partners and customers at the Window Cleaning Village and watching cleaners take part in the first ever Window Cleaning World Cup.
“In addition, we will be hosting demonstrations of all our latest equipment and will be launching some exciting products for the first time in anywhere Europe. They will include a revolutionary device called Dr Angle and a new version of our very popular Excelerator squeegee.”
Another new product range set to be debuted at the show will be Northwood’s Hygiene’s North Shore washroom dispensers and consumables. One of the stand-out products in the range is a four-toilet roll ‘infinity dispenser’ called the Orbit, which has a capacity of up to 5,000 sheets. In addition, the firm will be showcasing its new range of Optimum ProWipers, a premium non-woven wiping product.
Paul Mulready from Northwood Hygiene said: “There’s nowhere better to demonstrate your latest innovations than at The Cleaning Show, and this year we will be using the event to showcase several new products and popular established ranges for the away-from-home paper hygiene market.”
Speakers taking part in the three-day conference programme have also revealed more details of what they will be sharing with delegates.
Cleanology’s Dominic Ponniah, who will be looking at the issue of pay, said: “Wages have come into sharp focus in recent years, but cleaning firms are all too aware that clients have the final say. But what do their employees say? Would they prefer to work for a company that remunerates all its staff fairly? And does higher pay translate into a higher standard of work?”
CJ Green, founder of business leadership consultancy Tovip Ltd, will be talking about professional development. She said: “There has never been a more exciting time for modern workforces and at the same time never a more challenging time for employers to meet modern workforce demands. I am excited to join The Cleaning Show this year to evolve the discussion on innovation through people.”
In contrast Dean Pearce from SWRNewstar will be focussed on the issue of food waste. He said: “If we are to meet the future food demands of a growing global population, we must tackle food waste. My presentation will lift the lid on the true cost of food waste providing both the economic and environmental case for reduction.”
Lorcan Mekitarian from RPC bpi recycled products is participating in a panel discussion about recycling. He said: “We need to simplify the types of plastics which are used and create a sustainable market for post-consumer waste plastic. China banning these plastics has done the UK recycling industry a favour by providing a good supply of material which will remain in the UK. The Government’s 30% recycled content target will provide an outlet for these materials sustaining the Circular Economy. I look forward to our panel discussions.”
One of the keynote conference speakers, who will also officially open The Cleaning Show is Steve Ashkin. Steve is the USA’s leading ‘Green Cleaning Guru’, Executive Director of the Green Cleaning Network and co-founder of the Green Cleaning University.
He said: “I am excited to be invited to The Cleaning Show in London to learn more details about the current state of the cleaning industry, and to meet with both industry leaders and building owners to help accelerate the adoption of Green Cleaning.”
Another of the keynote speakers is Syed Ahmed, former star of BBC’s The Apprentice and founder of IoT-enabled hand dryer company Savortex.
He said: “I am really looking forward to attending and speaking at this year’s Cleaning Show, sharing our ambitious journey in how we are transforming our sector, reducing energy costs and the user experience by applying IOT into our product set, and taking us into the connected buildings revolution.”
Stan Atkins, Chair of The British Cleaning Council which co-produces The Cleaning Show, said: “2019 features one of the strongest and most diverse line-ups we’ve ever pulled together which reflects how The Cleaning Show continues to attract the industry’s biggest names, either as sponsors, exhibitors or speakers.
“This is in turn ensures the event is attended by senior professionals who want to gain insights into what is happening in their sector, experience all the latest products and innovations, meet both new and existing contacts while also enjoying three days of high calibre networking.
“I and the full BCC membership, who will also all be represented at the show, are really looking forward to bringing the whole of the cleaning, hygiene, waste management and FM sectors together.”
