To help chemical manufacturers and suppliers stay compliant and ease the pressures of compiling Safety Data Sheets (SDS), microbiological testing firm, MSL Solution Providers, has launched a new SDS subscription service.
Safety Data Sheets are essential for chemical products but require technical expertise and can be time-consuming to prepare. Furthermore, they need reviewing regularly to ensure that they meet changing regulations.
MSL’s new SDS subscription service enables companies to outsource the responsibility of maintaining these essential documents to its in-house specialist SDS team, headed up by expert Daniel Sands. The package includes alerts and notifications of upcoming changes, consultancy, an annual review to ensure they remain up to date, and a limited number of revisions, as applicable.
In addition, MSL can expertly author new Safety Data Sheets in different languages and complete Poison Centre Notifications. Clients have the option to include a company logo if desired and usually receive their completed SDS within two weeks, from receipt of data.
Carolyn Burney, MD at MSL Solution Providers, commented: “We know that preparing Safety Data Sheets can be a headache for companies to prepare themselves. Our SDS offer enables customers to lighten their load by outsourcing the compilation of these essential documents to our specialist team – saving them time and offering reassurance that their completed SDS is technically accurate. We are proud to extend our SDS service to include year-round support, helping to ensure that our clients stay compliant with regulations that are constantly being reviewed.”
Safety Data Sheets provide information on chemical products, describing the hazards that the chemical presents, as well as giving information on handling, storage, and emergency measures in case of accident.
A complete service provider, MSL offers an integrated regulatory and laboratory testing service for both biocidal and cosmetic industries, helping companies stay compliant with current regulations. As well as safety data sheets, its expertise includes claim support for the BPR (Biocidal Product Regulation), claims substantiation, auditing, disinfectant testing, cleanroom validation (UV and airborne disinfection), and user trials. The company also offers tailored solutions for specific testing needs, enabling them to support clients’ individual requirements.
Its in-house accredited microbiology and virology labs provide a comprehensive range of standard tests, including efficacy testing against bacteria, fungi, spores, viruses, mycobacteria, legionella, and algae. The majority of its biocides testing, including virology testing, is accredited by UKAS 4045 to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards.
