Swiftclean UK Ltd has passed a milestone of completing 2,000 BESCA certified cleans of kitchen extract systems to the BESA TR19® Grease specification.
As a founder member of the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite (VHE) scheme, Swiftclean is among the first in the UK to achieve this landmark in its kitchen extract system cleaning services.
Swiftclean MD Gary Nicholls is particularly pleased to mark this occasion as he chairs the VHE scheme user group and also helped to develop the BESA TR19® Grease specification as co-author and long serving member of the BESA TR19 steering committee.
On receiving the BESCA certificate for 2,000 completed cleans, Nicholls commented: “It is excellent to reflect that since BESCA post-clean certification was introduced, we have been able to certify the enhanced safety of more than 2,000 kitchen extract systems across the UK.
“Of course, prior to certification, we carried out every clean to exemplary standards in order to achieve TR/19 compliance and make extract systems safer, but the introduction of certification, together with the new TR19® Grease specification, means that clients now have robust documentation, which allows them to demonstrate their compliance. This is increasingly important for buildings insurance providers. It also creates an excellent point of reference for building and facilities managers, who can tell with accuracy when compliance was achieved, and therefore have a clear picture of when further ongoing cleaning will be needed to maintain TR19® Grease compliance, according to usage.”
