Swinging into charity action

Raising much-needed money for charity can be a tough task in such a highly competitive world – that’s why cleaning firm, Pacific Support Services, is proud to have ‘cleaned up’ to give Young Epilepsy a major boost by once again hosting a Charity Golf Day.

This will be the sixth golf day run by Pacific Support Services for Young Epilepsy and takes place on 9 September 2022 at Stock Brook Manor Country Club, the spectacularly stunning course in Billericay, Essex.

Over the past few years, the fundraising event has hit the £28,000 target and is hoping for an even better performance this year.

Based in Eltham, London, Pacific Support Services’ Managing Director Richard Pallett explained: “It is a charity close to my heart and I’m always thrilled when we can help such a worthwhile organisation.”

Epilepsy in childhood can be frightening, isolating and is often misunderstood. The loss of any sense of safety, trapped in an unpredictable world, not knowing when their next seizure will happen, takes its toll on a child’s mental and physical health, and they miss out on childhood.

Young Epilepsy is a charity dedicated to standing up for the rights of children and young people with epilepsy.

Sally Brighton, Fundraising Director at Young Epilepsy said: “Children with epilepsy have a right to be heard. It is our job to listen and work with them so they can thrive and fulfil their potential.

“Support from Pacific Support Services and the Charity Golf Day helps coordinate research to improve diagnosis and treatments, supports campaigns for children’s rights and provides vital tools, information, and practical support for children living with epilepsy.

“We are delighted that Pacific are once again so generously organising this wonderful event. Everyone who takes part, whether that’s playing their best (or worst!) round of golf or digging deep for some of the amazing auction prizes on offer, will be helping young people with epilepsy to live happy fulfilled lives.”

Pacific Support Services’ sixth golf day will consist of a day of golf with 33 teams of four. There are already 30 teams confirmed and only three more spaces available. An evening function follows the day of sport including a comedian, three-course meal, presentations and a charity auction. Donated prizes so far include wine tasting, bungee jump voucher, ice skating, dinner show Moulin Rouge and more!

If you would like to take part, please contact pa@pacificsupportservices.co.uk or phone 01322 554 142.
