Planet Mark, a leading sustainability certification, is ensuring that Metsä Tissue’s UK Sustainability Awards 2023 are carbon neutral in accordance with internationally recognised specification for carbon neutrality published by BSI (PAS2060).
Metsä Tissue, part of Metsä Group, will lead the way in taking responsibility for its carbon footprint by ensuring its carbon neutrality status is verified by Planet Mark’s sustainability experts. Planet Mark will also assess compliance of Metsä Awards offsetting projects and will guide in establishing a carbon reduction plan for the years to come.
The Metsä Tissue’s UK Sustainability Awards have been introduced this year to highlight and reward sustainability practices throughout the cleaning & hygiene industry and to encourage and create a positive, lasting impact on the environment. The awards, in partnership with the Cleaning & Services Support Association, attracted 64 entries from 43 companies, including Planet Mark members Hillbrush, Nuserve, Doc Cleaning and GreenZone.
In addition to verifying the Award’s carbon neutrality status, Planet Mark’s founder and CEO Steve Malkin is on the judging panel.
Commenting on the awards, Malkin said: “It is fantastic to see so many companies within the cleaning & hygiene industry being acknowledged and celebrated for reducing the environmental impact of their organisation. This vital industry is making strides in becoming more sustainable and I applaud those who are leading the way in best practice. I am honoured to be judging these awards and I’m pleased that our experts at Planet Mark will be working with Metsä to ensure the Sustainability Awards 2023 achieve carbon neutral status.”
The Metsä Tissue UK Sustainability Awards have been carefully planned to coincide with The Cleaning Show at London’s ExCeL. The black-tie awards ceremony will take place this evening at 19:00hrs just a short distance away, in Greenwich, at the iconic Cutty Sark.
