Seeking the CHSA’s 2019 Undergraduate Scholars

The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) has launched the search for its 2019 Undergraduate Scholars; up to two will be awarded this year, the second in the CHSA’s five-year commitment to the programme.

The sons and daughters of CHSA members, who on 1 September 2019 will be 18 years or over and commencing their higher education studies this year, are eligible to apply.  The successful applicants will be awarded a maximum of £4,500, receiving the Bursary in three instalments, £1,500 at the start of each academic year or for the first three academic years even if the degree is four years or longer.

Applicants are assessed according to need, worthiness, endeavour, and overall performance.  Each candidate brings something unique, so the selection process is incredibly competitive.

David Garcia, Vice President of the CHSA explained: “Our employees’ members work hard and this bursary, by giving something directly to their children, is a perfect way for us to say thank you for their contribution and ongoing commitment.”

In recent times, the CHSA has awarded six bursaries.  The first winner, Adam Jackson, has now completed his degree in Chemical Engineering.  Lauren Moss is in her second year of a BA in History at the University of London.  Chloe Hamilton is in her second year at the University of Warwick studying Politics, International Relations and German, and Lewis Baron is in his second year of a degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Bradford.  Ellie Walker and Krupa Solanki are in the first year of their degrees at Leeds university and the University of Northampton respectively.  Ellie is studying Biology and Krupa is taking Early Childhood Studies.

Applicants need to submit their completed form, which can be obtained from Linda Belcher the Secretary of the CHSA (secretary@chsa.co.uk) or from the CHSA website (www.chsa.co.uk), by 28 June 2019.

Those shortlisted will be interviewed in July by a selection panel to be led by David Garcia.
