Twickenham based facilities management and cleaning company, Stadium Support Services, has been appointed Farnborough International Airshow’s principle cleaning partner until 2022.
The contract will see the company deliver over 80,000 hours of cleaning services across the 770-acre site on behalf of the 1,500 exhibitors set to take part in this iconic aviation event, which attracts up to 200,000 people each year.
Neil Theuma, Operations Director at Farnborough International Ltd commented: “We have worked hard to deliver a great audience and participant experience at Farnborough, and the ecosystem of suppliers we align with is critical to that success. Stadium Support Services impressed throughout the whole tender process and not only showed a real understanding of our cleaning requirements today but shared our vision of the way in which we want the event to evolve in years to come. Our goal is to create one team working together for the success of the event as well as thinking differently about how we approach the site to deliver the best services for the exhibitors and public alike.”
Kevin Hudson, Managing Director of Stadium Support Services said: “We are conscious of his Farnborough International’s high customer service levels for the Airshow and our cleaning services will provide the right environment for the show’s exhibitors and visitors to operate in. We’re committed to using leading technology and process to ensure that nothing is missed.
“RFID technology, we will be deploying tracking chips that will enable our cleaning operatives to scan and send back data to our help desk allowing us to monitor with real-time updates when areas have been inspected and cleaned. This visibility will enable us to adapt our resourcing model if required to ensure service levels are met and ensure that areas are cleaned systematically.”
The family-owned business, with clients including Twickenham Stadium, The Kia Oval and the Metropolitan Police, has been carrying out cleaning and FM services for the past 15 years throughout the UK. Part of the approach to ensuring a seamless clean will be the utilisation of cordless technology such as battery-powered backpack vacuums that negate the need for long extension leads enabling faster cleaning responses with minimal disruption to the public.
Joseph Noble, Commercial Director, Stadium Support Services added: “Having personally worked in the cleaning industry for over a decade, it always frustrates me when a sales team promises a solution that the team cannot deliver. Our approach to any job is to have complete buy-in from both the operations and sales team along with senior company directors, this way there are no hidden surprises. We’re hugely excited to be part of one of the biggest aviation events in the world.”
Farnborough International Airshow takes place between Monday 16th and Sunday 22nd July at the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre in north east Hampshire. As well as a five- day trade show, at the weekend, the general public will gain a rare insight into leading-edge technology and innovation whilst enjoying an exciting five-hour flying display.
