Independent professional register of qualified pest controllers, BASIS PROMPT, has launched a short online survey to gain an insight into customer perceptions of professionalism within the pest control industry.
Greg Hopkinson Head of Business Development and Marketing at PROMPT is asking those working within the facilities management or public sectors to fill in the questionnaire by the end of May.
The survey also aims to understand whether respondents believe the accreditations of the pest controllers they employ are authentic. This follows the launch of PROMPT Verified, a search tool that allows those seeking a pest technician to check that accreditations are valid.
“In carrying out this survey, we hope to be able to raise overall awareness of the importance of professionalism within the pest control industry and improve customer and consumer experience,” says Hopkinson.
“Once completed we’ll share the results with the relevant industries, which we hope will increase awareness of the importance of employing pest technicians with qualifications and up to date Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
“Pest technicians play a vital role in keeping public and private spaces disease free, so it’s crucial that anyone who employs them ensures they’re suitably qualified for the task in hand. Those with CPD points should also be aware of all relevant legislation when carrying out a procedure,” explains Hopkinson.
