Specialist Window Cleaning Ltd (SWC), has become the UK’s first National carbon neutral window cleaning company. In addition, they have achieved CarbonNeutral® company certification in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol.
To achieve CarbonNeutral® certification, SWC is working with the leading experts on carbon neutrality and climate finance, Natural Capital Partners. SWC had an independent assessment of the greenhouse gas emissions produced from the company’s day to day activities. Over the last two years, SWC have been reducing their emissions as much as possible through a variety of sustainable initiatives, such as renewing vehicles within their fleet with fully electric models when leases expire, eliminating the use of single-use-plastic from operations, providing new sustainability training for all staff, and a commitment to employing local people wherever possible.
To meet their carbon neutral goal, their offsetting programme delivers finance to a portfolio of emission reduction projects. These include the ACRE Amazonian Rainforest Conservation project and several renewable energy projects around the world, supporting the transition to a low carbon global economy. All projects are independently verified to assure emission reductions are occurring. This ensures the highest environmental integrity, in our efforts to have an immediate, positive impact on the climate.
