Co-chaired by Lord Blunkett and Lord Pickles, The Parliamentary Review is an independent publication that highlights best practice across a wide range of industry sectors in the UK. DOC is one of twelve companies represented in the Review’s Industrial Strategy section.
DOC shares the company’s views on challenges facing the commercial cleaning industry over the next few years and how it is shaping up to deal with them. In particular, the company is harnessing information technology in a variety of ways to engage with front-line staff, to deliver company-wide training and to digitalise the majority of its key business procedures, especially those that support clients more effectively.
DOC also highlights the company’s family culture and how the directors intend to use this to attract and retain staff over the course of what could potentially be a period of considerable change and instability in the traditional labour market for the cleaning industry.
The co-chairman of The Parliamentary Review, Lord Pickles, has praised The Review as one of the most comprehensive yet. He commented that as Britain undergoes changes, it is “essential that politicians have a firm understanding of the challenges with which British organisations must contend” and that The Review once again provides a perfect platform for this.
Also writing in The Review, The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Michael Gove said: “This year’s Parliamentary review comes at a momentous time for parliament, as we collectively determine the destiny of the United Kingdom.”
Lee Andrews, CEO of DOC Cleaning expressed his pride at being asked to take part in The Review. He said: “It’s not often we are mentioned in the same breath as parliament, but we are grateful for this opportunity to contribute our thoughts at what is a critical time in our industry’s development.”
