The Cheeky Panda, a leading sustainable personal care, baby, and beauty brand, is launching a new line of The Cheeky Panda Luxury Quilted Sustainable Bamboo Toilet Tissue in cases of 36 rolls x 160 sheets exclusively for the B2B market, to help bring affordable and sustainable luxury to Britain’s businesses’ washrooms and restrooms, and the hotel and B&B sector. The new toilet tissue has a soft and gentle feel and is made with FSC and Vegan Society certified 100 per cent sustainable bamboo.
In another sustainability step forward, The Cheeky Panda has wound the new toilet rolls tighter. As a result, they need smaller boxes, and more will fit into a container, helping shrink the product’s carbon footprint even further.
Made with fast-growing, 100 per cent biodegradable, FSC certified bamboo, The Cheeky Panda Luxury Quilted Sustainable Bamboo Toilet Tissue offers an ideal solution for businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint. The manufacturing process produces 65.6 per cent fewer carbon emissions than standard virgin tree-based products and is 35 per cent lower than recycled tree-based paper. Any additional carbon emitted through the rolls’ production, manufacturing and distribution is offset through The Cheeky Panda’s partnership to protect and preserve the vulnerable Annamite Lowland rainforest in Khe Nuoc Trong, Vietnam.
The Cheeky Panda’s Luxury Quilted toilet rolls come in plastic-free packaging, which helps reduce the amount of plastic entering the waste cycle, and business users can easily recycle both the core and outer box in their current facilities. The packaging will biodegrade over time, unlike the plastic wraps conventional toilet tissue comes in. Compared to standard 36-roll format toilet tissues, The Cheeky Panda’s new toilet tissues save around 1.9kg of carbon per case of 36, and approximately 33g of plastic.
Al Suter, UK FM Sales Executive at The Cheeky Panda Ltd, said: “The Cheeky Panda’s new Luxury Quilted Sustainable Bamboo Toilet Tissues bring a touch of affordable luxury to restrooms and washrooms, while helping businesses to be softer on the planet through plastic and carbon savings. By 2025, larger companies need to report their climate-related risk in line with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations. Meanwhile, Kantar’s research shows over half the consumers they polled in 32 countries believe businesses should prioritise reducing their carbon emissions, and just under half (43 per cent) want them to commit to achieving carbon net zero.
“Given this and with 2030’s carbon-neutral target approaching, people working in facilities management should be considering making changes across their businesses. One easy step is moving Britain’s restrooms and washrooms to sustainable personal hygiene solutions like The Cheeky Panda’s new Luxury Quilted Bamboo Toilet Tissues, which deliver comfort and save on carbon. No matter how small the individual impact we make, in whatever area, it all contributes towards the end goal.”
This latest launch, from the bamboo-fibre tissue market leader, comes hot on the heels of the announcement of a new and improved version of The Cheeky Panda Biodegradable Anti-Bacterial Multi-Surface Cleaning Wipes, manufactured here in the UK. Made with fast-growing, 100 per cent biodegradable, FSC certified bamboo and free from plastic, these wipes are sustainable and renewable. The carbon footprint of new The Cheeky Panda Wipes is 35 per cent lower than wipes made of recycled tree-based paper and 65 per cent lower than virgin tree-based paper, plus they help businesses cut their carbon emissions significantly. Compared to standard plastic wipes, the new antibacterial wipes offer a plastic saving of 180g per pack, and a carbon saving of 410g. The wipes are free from fragrance, fertilisers, pesticides and chlorine bleach, simply made with purified water, and plant-derived cleaning agents.
