Linen revival specialist Regenex has achieved an impressive return rate of 81 per cent on Zoo Events Group’s heavily-marked and muddy linens.
The glamping and boutique camping supplier, based in Warminster, Wiltshire, recently sent 2.5 tonnes of towels, sheet, duvet covers and pillowcases for processing.
The material was stained and discoloured following use in premium festival and event campsite accommodation, and required urgent revival for the upcoming 2026/27 summer season.
Director at Zoo Events Group, James Herbert, was delighted to see such positive results on linens he feared would have to be condemned to recycling.
He said: “Operating as a glamping provider at UK festivals, we manage high volumes of linen in demanding environments, so reducing waste without compromising the guest experience is a priority.
“We’re always looking for practical ways to operate more sustainably and working with Regenex has been a great example of that in action.”
Regenex uses a gentle, multi-bath treatment system based on textile colour chemistry. The process uses recycled hot water from other operations on site, to open fibres and lift stains from linen.
Herbert continued: “The results speak for themselves, showing not only cost efficiency but also a significant reduction in unnecessary waste by extending the life of several thousand individual pieces of bed linen annually.
“Recovering over 81 per cent of items that would otherwise have been discarded is a very positive outcome for us both environmentally and commercially.”
The process represented a carbon saving of 5.7 tonnes and a cost saving of many thousands of pounds on top-up stock.
A total of 2,504kg linen was delivered with 124kg rejected due to rips or holes. Of the revivalbe linen, 1,926kg – 81 per cent – was restored to pristine whiles for return to stock and just 454kg did not pass inspection.
Good linens with residual stains can always be overdyed in rich, bespoke colours, or repurposed in other ways.
Paul Hamilton, Technical Director of Regenex said: “It has been great to work with Zoo Events and we look forward to future collaborations to keep good linen in circulation and save carbon and money.
“The partnership further cements Regenex’s status as a trusted partner to the luxury camping, glamping, festivals and events sector as well as to contract laundry groups who serve more traditional hotels and holiday lets.”
