Axis Cleaning and Support Services, the nationwide supplier of commercial cleaning services has once again triumphed at the annual Loo of the Year Awards, achieving six awards across different categories, including UK Washroom Cleaner of the Year Award for External Contractors.
The awards, which celebrate the very best washrooms in the UK, are judged on high quality and consistent cleanliness.
Axis Cleaning and Support Services success in the UK Washroom Cleaner of the Year Award for External Contractors singles it out as the best provider of high-level service to one or more separate Loo of the Year grading certificates.
Axis was also successful in the UK Washroom Cleaner of the Year category with Individual Cleaner Trophy being awarded to Greg Amenca at Savills’ The Ashley Centre in Epsom. This is in recognition of his high-quality ambassadorial role he upholds in terms of excellent appearance, attitude, commitment and efficiency. It is Amenca’s efforts, which also supported the site to achieve Platinum Grade from the inspectors in advance of the judging.
The Champions League Award was awarded to Axis which is open to organisations with ten or more certificates (of which five or more are awarded Gold or Platinum grades) and who, in the opinion of the inspectors, are maintaining a consistently high standard of management in all their Loo of the Year Awards entries.
Within the National Awards for England, three different Axis sites achieved recognition. Under the Office Category, the award went to Ashdown Phillips, a specialist office management company, which gained a Diamond grade. The Diamond grade is the highest and most prestigious award available to washroom providers, their cleaners and maintainers, and is in recognition of Axis’ exceptional cleaning operatives at Blenheim Court, Solihull. They consistently work together to maintain the highest cleaning standards and are led by an experienced supervisor at the facility, who closely manages the whole team, ensuring excellence is always achieved.
Other National Awards for England went to – Savills’ The Harvey Centre, winning in the Shopping Centre Category and Xscape Castelford in the Leisure & Recreation Category – both of these sites were graded Platinum by the inspectors.
Of the other sites entered into the Loo of the Year Awards, inspectors graded Houndshill Shopping Centre, Clacton Shopping Centre, New Square Shopping Centre and The Mercury Mall, as Platinum for their excellent facilities, their overall high standard cleanliness and the effective Covid-19 measures put in place.
Simon Giles, Axis Cleaning Chief Operating Officer & Axis Group Finance Director, says this year’s admirable results follow years of recognition for Axis as best-in-class: “For many years now, our customers have been achieving outstanding results in these awards, a true testament to our excellent staff, local management support and effective training. Despite the difficult year, our teams have managed to exceed expectations and deliver outstanding work. To receive multiple awards, along with the Platinum and Diamond grades is an exceptional accomplishment. We wish to congratulate all our teams, who have worked so hard to deliver the best results.”
This was the first year that Axis Cleaning and Support Services has achieved the highest grade for any of its customer sites and commenting on this, Facilities Manager at Ashdown Phillips, Sean Sollom said: “I am delighted that Ashdown Phillips and Axis have gained the Diamond award this year for Blenheim Court, Solihull. The team have worked through some difficult periods and changes to the cleaning environment this year and the award shows the effort and passion for maintaining fantastic standards.”
