Hyde awards long-term laundry services contract to JLA

Social housing association, Hyde, has awarded a new long-term contract to commercial laundry equipment provider, JLA, securing improved services, modern technology and significant cost savings for residents living in its later living (sheltered) and supported housing schemes.

The seven-year deal, with the option to extend for a further three years, follows valuable feedback from residents through Hyde’s Customer Involvement service.

The new agreement will deliver up to 43 per cent savings on rental and operating costs – equivalent to around £200,000 each year. It also includes the supply of modern and energy efficient appliances, a highly responsive maintenance service with parts, labour and fire compliance covered, and an annual cleaning service for cooker hoods and extraction systems in communal kitchens.

With a commitment to supporting communities beyond the provision of equipment and services, JLA has also pledged to deliver social value throughout the contract – from sponsoring neighbourhood initiatives to backing scheme improvement projects.

Hyde currently operates around 300 commercial washers, dryers and dishwashers across its specialist housing schemes, supporting older and vulnerable residents. The new contract makes sure these vital services remain efficient, reliable and safe while delivering better value for money for residents and the organisation alike.

James Barr, Hyde’s Later Living Operations Manager said: “We’re really pleased to have awarded this new long-term contract to JLA. It will not only deliver better value for money but also ensure our residents receive an efficient, reliable, high-quality laundry service. Most importantly, it frees up significant savings that we can reinvest into the services that matter most.”

Aaron Butler, Director of Housing, JLA, said: “We’re proud to extend our partnership with Hyde. This new contract reflects the trust they’ve placed in JLA to deliver reliable, energy efficient equipment along with compliance assurance. Together we’re focused on providing long-term value and positive outcomes for residents and communities. Our partnership with Hyde is built on shared values, innovation, sustainability and social impact and we’re excited to continue working together to create positive outcomes for residents, communities and the wider housing sector.”
