London-based cleaning specialist, Principle Cleaning Services, has retained its contract with Real Estate Management (UK) (REM) for three of its properties – The Shard, Park House, Oxford Street; and 48 Pall Mall.
The new five-year deal will see Principle, which began working with REM in 2012, involved in some of the most complex vertical cleaning required in London today.
Principle will provide cleaning, window cleaning, pest control, waste management, washroom services and consumables at the three properties, and will also utilise its cloud-based systems and technology in its daily on-site operations.
Peter Smith, CEO, Principle Cleaning Services, said: “Retaining this contract for another five years is a huge achievement for everyone at Principle and is testament to the hard work of all involved in keeping these iconic buildings in pristine condition on a day-to-day basis.
“We took part in in a rigorous tender process, part of which was effectively demonstrating our ability to continue to bring new innovation to the contract with the objective of both enhancing service and maximising value for money across different disciplines. We are delighted to have been successful and are looking forward to continuing our partnership with REM at all three properties.”
The Shard, at 310m high (1,016 ft), is Western Europe’s tallest building comprising world-class offices, award-winning restaurants, the five-star Shangri-La Hotel and the UK’s highest viewing gallery. Park House is recognised for its distinct, curvilinear shape and is the largest development in the area for 40 years, occupying an acre site between North Audley Street and Park Street. 48 Pall Mall provides 32,000 sq ft of new, open plan, Grade A office accommodation over nine floors, which has been completely redeveloped partly behind a restored historic façade.
