Spectrum boards Lothian Buses for cleaning deal

Spectrum Service Solutions has been appointed the cleaning services provider for Scottish bus service company, Lothian Buses.

Under the contract terms, Spectrum will deliver cleaning services for the Lothian Buses depots and offices across 11 locations, as well as attending to its three main garages, four Park & Rides and four ticket offices across Central-Eastern Scotland.

Lothian Buses operate over 70 services in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas of Midlothian and East Lothian, with a fleet of over 721 vehicles.

The company has been using the name of Lothian Buses since 2000 and remains publicly owned with the major shareholder being The City of Edinburgh Council. Their fleet contains over 600 low floor easy access buses as well as over 30 open top buses for tour services and 14 AIRLINK vehicles for the dedicated Airport Express Service. A fleet of six fully electronic buses were recently introduced for their Service 1 route in Edinburgh, showing Lothian Buses’ commitment to reduce emissions and improve air quality in the area.

Lothian Buses has over 2000 employees (1,500 of whom are drivers), and welcome over 120 million passengers on board per year.
