The BICSc Annual Awards return in September

The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) Annual Awards are planned to return this year on Thursday 30 September, at the Forest of Arden Hotel & Spa in Birmingham.

This important and much-anticipated event has long celebrated industry excellence, and rewards those who strive to uphold BICSc standards. After the pandemic forced the 2020 event to be cancelled, BICSc is hopeful that, with the recent government ‘roadmap’ announcement, they will be able to go ahead and host a live event, with plans to go virtual should the situation change. Tickets for the event will be available closer to the date.

BICSc Members can now apply within six categories, including Outstanding Corporate Member, Excellence in Training and Assessment, Candidate of the Year – the judges will have a tough job deciding who the winners will be.

In a different approach, this year’s event is planned to commence at midday, where Team BICSc will welcome guests to enjoy a champagne drinks reception, some much-needed networking, followed by a three course ‘Best of British’ lunch and Awards Ceremony. As always, the Chairman’s charity prize draw offers guests the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes with all donations going to Dementia UK.

Michelle Iland, Marketing & Events Manager, BICSc, said“We are keeping everything crossed that we will be able to host the Awards this year. Now more than ever it’s crucial that we recognise and reward trained individuals and organisations who incorporate the BICSc ethos into their training programmes – they all play their part in raising standards for the sector.”

Jim Melvin, Deputy Chairman of the British Cleaning Council, said: “We are delighted to be able to support our member, BICSc, and their Awards by sponsoring the historic Eric Hill Medal for the third time.  After what has been a tough time for many cleaning and hygiene personnel, it is great to be able to look forward to the return of this fantastic celebration of the expertise of our sector.”

The BICSc Annual Awards are sponsored by Rubbermaid Commercial Products, British Cleaning Council, Vinci Facilities and Citation.
