Tarem Services has launched its new Mobile Food Bank, aimed at supporting individuals and families experiencing in-work poverty and food insecurity.
The initiative, launching at Selhurst Children’s Centre on Tuesday, 1st October 2024, is part of Tarem Services’ ongoing mission to uplift vulnerable communities and provide essential resources to those in need.
In-work poverty, which affects individuals who are employed yet struggle to meet basic living costs, is a growing crisis across the UK. This Mobile Food Bank will offer critical food supplies directly to families, easing their financial burden and allowing them to focus on their well-being without the constant worry of food insecurity.
Jenny Gabriel, Manager of Selhurst Children’s Centre, said: “The Federation of Crosfield and Selhurst Nursery Schools and Children’s Centres are really looking forward to working with Tarem Services to support our local community and start to tackle food poverty. This initiative will give families who might ordinarily hesitate to ask for help the opportunity to access much-needed support without fear of judgement.”
