Wessex Cleaning Equipment, one of the UK’s major facilities management and commercial cleaning suppliers has announced the appointment of IOSH certified, Andy Penny, to the position of Warehouse Manager to transform its warehouse efficiency and develop the function in line with the companies environmental, sustainability and digital transformation goals.
Penny’s 27-years’ experience in the janitorial sector managing warehouse operations has seen achievements such as transforming janitorial companies from single depot to developing into multi-site distribution centres with rigorous health and safety process implementation to minimise employee risk and improve productivity by transforming warehouse effectiveness by over 130 per cent through his autonomy-first, structured mindset to warehouse management.
Penny’s passion for reducing the impact on the environment has also led him to introducing initiatives such as 100 per cent recycled, and recyclable packaging for all product lines, and overhauling paper-based processing in favour of lower polluting and more efficient digital systems.
The new hire comes at a significant time for Wessex Cleaning Equipment as it begins to gear up for the next phase of its operational development strategy which will see its operation take a digital-first stance to improve accuracy, reduce environmental impact further in line with its goals for carbon naturality, and give its customers an enhanced level of service.
Penny’s hire comes with an increase of staffing to the warehouse by 50 per cent over the past three-months, and a series of new administrative hires.
