Tarem Services Foodbank a ‘model for local impact’

Tarem Services, a social enterprise cleaning company focused on tackling in-work poverty and food insecurity, brought its Mobile Foodbank initiative to Battersea for the first time on Tuesday 30 September, distributing food parcels to 40 families at the STORM Family Centre. In total, the distribution supported approximately 80 residents.

The distribution at STORM Family Centre was supported by volunteers from social enterprise Tarem Services and its Fulham-based client, construction company Balfour Beatty.

The Worshipful the Mayor of Wandsworth, Councillor Jeremy Ambache, who took part in the distribution, said: “This is what local partnership looks like – community, enterprise, and industry working side by side to meet real needs. It’s a model of what’s possible when social purpose is placed at the centre of business.”

Marie Hanson, Director and Founder of STORM Family Centre, added: A huge thank you to Tarem Services for coming down to STORM Family Centre. Your visit meant so much to us. The weather was kind, and your team brought warmth and generosity that truly lifted the day.

They didn’t just show up – they rolled up their sleeves, filled food bags with care, and handed them out with heart. It was partnership in action, and the community felt it.”

The event created new connections and strengthened community ties, with hopes it will lead to future collaboration and joint projects.

Tuesday’s distribution is the eighth in a series of community distributions by the Mobile Foodbank, which marks its one-year anniversary on 1 October 2025. Since launching last year, the initiative has supported more than 1,380 individuals across some of the different areas where Tarem Services operates, as part of its extended ongoing mission to tackle food insecurity.
