Delphis Eco funds University of Cambridge Masters in Sustainability Leadership scholarship

Demonstrating its long-standing commitment to creating a greener future, eco-cleaning company and manufacturer, Delphis Eco, has funded its sixth student bursary for the Master of Studies (MSt) in Sustainability Leadership at the prestigious University of Cambridge.

This two-year, part-time programme is designed for working professionals and delivered by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). The course brings together expert teaching from across the University – including the Departments of Engineering, Geography, Land Economy, and the Cambridge Judge Business School – to empower future leaders with the knowledge, tools, and networks to drive meaningful environmental and social change.

The Delphis Eco Scholarship is aimed at supporting emerging ‘game changers’ who demonstrate exceptional potential to shape sustainable corporate practices in their industries and beyond. Applicants undergo the University of Cambridge’s rigorous admissions process, followed by a targeted scholarship application and panel interview.

This year’s scholarship recipient is Varnika Chawla, a highly accomplished dual-qualified solicitor (India, England & Wales), based out of London. Chawla graduated from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, earning double honours in Liberal Arts and Law (B.A., LL.B. Hons.) and multiple university gold medals.

With over eight years of specialised experience in the legal structuring of impact private equity capital, Chawla is currently leading the legal function as a Director at Climate Asset Management (CAM) – a leading natural capital asset manager with over US$1 billion in assets under management. A significant part of her work involves ensuring capital is directed towards regions most affected by climate change, translating complex regulatory requirements related to ESG, voluntary carbon markets, and international tax in the UK and EU into actionable solutions tailored for emerging markets and stakeholders. Her work has gained global recognition as she won the Legal500 ESG Rising Star Award (2025) and the Environmental Finance Rising Star Award (2024).

Commenting on the scholarship, Chawla said: “I am absolutely delighted to be awarded the Delphis Eco Scholarship to pursue the Master’s in Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge as this scholarship is enabling me to pursue my vision to learn from experts and create sustainable investment solutions to address the climate crisis.

“To be supported by a pioneering company like Delphis Eco—whose values align so closely with my own—is incredibly meaningful. Their belief in my potential strengthens my resolve to drive impactful change.”

Mark Jankovich, Founder and Managing Director of Delphis Eco, added: “Since 2018, we’ve been proud to support the leaders of tomorrow who are taking bold steps to address the planet’s most pressing challenges. The Master’s in Sustainability Leadership is exactly the kind of programme we want to align ourselves with – rigorous, practical, and transformative.

“Sustainability isn’t just a moral imperative – it’s a business opportunity. Organisations that embed sustainable practices often report lower costs, increased customer and employee loyalty, and stronger long-term growth. Small enterprises, in particular, face unique challenges in areas like procurement, supply chains and waste. But by working collaboratively, we can create scalable, impactful solutions and embed sustainability deeply into business culture.”
