Ecocleen expands presence following acquisition

Commercial contract cleaning provider, Ecocleen, has acquired Regency Cleaning Services, a family-owned cleaning business based in Henley-on-Thames, in a deal worth up to £2.5 million.

With an annual turnover in excess of £4 million, Regency Cleaning Services operates throughout Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire supporting over 100 clients. The company’s team of over 500 staff are responsible for delivering cleaning, waste management, porterage and maintenance services to variety of private and public sector sites such as schools, nurseries, offices and car showrooms.

The takeover will enable the company to increase its presence within key sectors – most notably education and motor retail – while expanding its nationwide franchise network.

Speaking about the acquisition, Jean-Henri Beukes, Managing Director of Ecocleen said: “This is the first of a number of strategic acquisitions we are planning as we look to accelerate our growth within the UK. We are seeking further opportunities in London, the South-East, South-West and North-West, which will add value and expertise to our business and existing infrastructure. These are exciting times for Ecocleen and expect to make further announcement in the coming months.”

Regency Cleaning Services Managing Director Darran Penny has more than 20 years of experience within the cleaning industry and will join Ecocleen in the role of Commercial Director.

Ecocleen currently services 19 million sq ft of office, retail, healthcare and industrial space, handling contracts of all sizes for both private and public sector organisations.
