While many UK manufacturers continue to feel the pressure of rising operational costs, with 70 per cent reporting increases of up to 20 per cent over the past year, Coventry-based cleaning and hygiene specialist Mirius says it is making its mark as one of the sector’s fastest-growing firms.
The company has reported significant financial growth in its FY24 results, with revenue reaching £56 million. Specialising in private-label, branded, and bespoke cleaning products, Mirius manufactures for some of the UK’s largest retailers, distributors, and FM providers. Its growing team spans engineering, production, procurement, sales, technical, and customer service, enabling agile, end-to-end support at a national scale.
Over the past decade, the firm has expanded across three core sectors: professional, retail, and animal health. Today, the company supports a growing portfolio of partners, including big name brands and major retailers. It has built trading relationships that, in some cases, span over 30 years, with Mirius products now found in approximately one in four homes across the UK.
This momentum is set to continue. Mirius reports it is on track to reach £100 million in annual revenue by 2028, driven by product portfolio expansion, strategic hires, new market entries, and investment in digital innovation. A key initiative is Ask Nan, an AI-powered customer support assistant that offers instant advice on product usage, compliance, and safety, and responds in over 90 languages. Designed to enhance the customer experience, it allows the team to focus on high-value support and deliver exceptional service.
Sustainability remains a core pillar of the company’s long-term strategy. Mirius holds EcoVadis accreditation and is embedding sustainable practices into every aspect of its operations. Its goal is to embed environmental responsibility into every product, not just promote a ‘green range’. This includes lightweight packaging and the use of recycled materials in its bottles. As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, Mirius has launched the Madagascar-based Super Sapling Project through Evertreen, planting more than 5,000 trees to date.
Darren Langdon, MD at Mirius, commented: “We’re still one of the industry’s best-kept secrets, but the numbers speak for themselves. We more than doubled in size in five years, both in terms of revenue and operational capacity, and now supply many of the UK’s largest retailers. This growth has been fuelled by staying laser-focused on what our customers actually need, high-quality products, rapid turnaround, and scalable manufacturing support. Our private-label partnerships with major retailers and distributors have been central to our success.
“Our ambition now is to drive real innovation, whether that’s through digital assistants like Ask Nan or by challenging greenwashing with honest, science-led sustainability. There’s a huge appetite in the market for credible, scalable partners, and we’re ready to meet that demand.”
