ONE HUNDRED restrooms has won the tender for the lease and operation of 10 paid restroom facilities at the five main ADIF-Alta Velocidad stations.
The first future proof restrooms are scheduled to open in June 2021.
Health & Hygiene are not the first things that come to mind when visiting a public restroom at a train station. But at the five main stations in Spain travellers will soon be able to visit the first store of ONE HUNDRED restrooms and leave healthier and without any hygiene concerns.
ONE HUNDRED restrooms offers visitors services to “Relieve, Refresh, Reload” that turns a toilet visit from a necessary evil into a reviving micro break. The five stations that will get the new facilities are: Barcelona Sants, Madrid Puerta de Atocha, Madrid Chamartín, Zaragoza Delicias and Alicante.
Niels Bakker, Managing Director ONE HUNDRED Iberia commented: “This is very exciting news for ONE HUNDRED, our partners and the public who use these services whilst travelling.
“It means a significant step for ONE HUNDRED in view of our ambition to become the number one toilet operator within the European market. Spain is an important market for us, as we launched our concept in Madrid, and the ADIF project will be one of our biggest operations.
“We are looking forward to contributing with this project and introduce the new standard in public restrooms to travelers of ADIF-Alta Velocidad.”
